Retro Pie MAXX

Keeping in theme with the times by playing a 22 year old game about a city in lockdown because of a virus wildly spreading and infecting everyone who goes outside. Very retro-viral

My son has been asking me to get him a Nintendo Switch so I decided to do the reasonable thing and built a 7 inch hand held console with thousands of games from NES, SNES, Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy Color and Playstation 1.

Took apart the previous version that used a tiny 3 inch LCD. Swapped out the Logitech gamepad with an Xbox one controller. Used a more powerful Raspberry Pi 3 B+ compared to the slow Pi Zero. Also upgraded the speaker to a bigger 3 watt speaker as the tiny 1 watt speaker was not loud enough. I changed out the battery to a smaller one to make the entire thing lighter. Will work on getting the PS1 emulator set up later so we can play castlevania sotn, resident evil 2 and tekken 3 on this thing.

All this to keep the little one (and me!) entertained during break time while on house arrest.
