I decided to upgrade the sad, slow, fuzzy, old web cam that I installed in my Pi2-D2’s head back a few months ago. I had to move the raspberry pi zero w out of its body to inside the head casing. This ensures that the camera ribbon cable does not get ripped up when the head is moving. Plus, it gives me a lot more space to put other things inside of Pi2-D2. A bigger speaker maybe? Or move that entire power relay and usb charger inside?
I installed UV4L and the other server related components into Pi2-D2 and now I can see what it sees from a web browser, real time. Sure beats the original motion + webcam setup I had previously.
