My Pi2-D2 can move its head, light up, play sounds and turn appliances on and off. It’s only natural for it to start seeing too. I took apart an old USB webcam from its case and mounted it on its head. Took a bit of elbow grease to poke a hole on that socket and file it down to shape but I think I did ok.
I installed motion on the Pi2-D2 and turned on the web streaming. This allowed me to monitor what it was seeing from any browser at home. I could also set it to record video or take pictures if it detects motion. It’s now a really cute looking motion detection system. All I need to do now is install a fusion cutter.
