I was left at home alone for a couple of days so I decided to take our old boring regular lamp and give it an upgrade. I honestly never thought I would ever need a hammer to fix a light fixture 😂. That thing refused to give up its secrets easily!

A Raspberry Pi, a relay switch and some some simple python code and we have an internet enabled lamp. It had a 4 way switch for all lights on, all lights off, 2 lights on, 3 lights off. I installed 2 yellow bulbs and 3 white ones. This way I can light up the living room with yellow or white colors. I also added a blink feature for added measure because, well, because I can! 🤣

I’m sure my wife will be delighted to see the home automation improvement I’ve done when she gets home. At a minimum she should be proud that I was left alone at home for a couple of days and didn’t end up burning down the place… yet…
